Durant Nature Preserve

A mix of single track and wide trails, the park is a network of short segments that can be connected in a variety of combinations. Undulating terrain, but not too hilly. Good for short runs under an hour.
Why You Love This Trail: It’s a hidden gem in Raleigh. The trails are nice and well maintained and there are a variety of options. The lake is really nice to run around.

William B. Umstead State Park

MILES OF TRAILS, MOSTLY DIRT ROAD WITH SINGLE TRACK TRAILS

Forest Ridge Park

Miles of Trails For Hiking And Biking
MOST LIKELY TO SEE ON THE TRAIL: Jacob
Forest Ridge is my favorite place to run because…
  1. It’s an amazing spot for runs, rides and more. A mixture of Bridal Trail and single track allow for running and mountain biking both.
  2. Disc Golf and a great playground for families makes this a great all-around spot to meet.
  3. I like riding my bike in the neighborhood and then hopping off for a quick trail Brick run.

Mountains-to-Sea Trail

A Segment Of The Trail Is Accessible From The Falls Lake Dam Parking Lot
MOST LIKELY TO SEE ON THE TRAIL: Lee
The Greenway is my favorite place to run because…
  1. It is all dirt with tons of ups and downs and it’s all single track.
  2. It is away from cars, the hustle and bustle, and distractions.
  3. The trail options out there are endless… park at the main entrance on Falls of Neuse Rd, Raven Ridge Rd, or Possum Track Rd. Wherever you park, follow the white dot trail until you are tired, then just turn around.

Neuse River Greenway Trail

PAVED GREENWAY TRAIL THAT TRAVELS 27.5 MILES ALONG THE NEUSE RIVER
MOST LIKELY TO SEE ON THE TRAIL: Meredith
The Greenway is my favorite place to run because…
  1. You can do an entire run, any time of day IN THE SHADE!
  2. The surface is paved but still allows you to enjoy the nature surrounding you.
  3. The trail always has plenty of walkers, runners & bikers making it feel super safe.
